The Vernon North Okanagan RCMP have recruited three experienced officers to the force: Sgt. James Fayle, Cst. Holly Van Woerden and Cst. Joel Kooger.

Fayle, who has 20 years or service in the RCMP, spent the last four and a half years serving as the detachment commander of the Tumbler Ridge RCMP. He will be filling the role of watch commander of “B” Watch with the local Mounties.

Kooger, a front line officer with six years experience, has relocated from northern B.C. Vernon North Okanagan RCMP said Kooger has a passion for community policing and involvement, and is eager to engage with the public and build positive relationships.

Van Woerden, who has nine years experience, has moved to the Vernon area after serving in the Lower Mainland. The RCMP said her enthusiasm and energy is a welcome addition to the detachment.

“Each of these outstanding individuals bring a wealth of experience to our front line policing operations,” said Superintendent Shawna Baher, Officer in Charge for the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP, in a news release.

“They have fit right in, and their contributions will help to ensure we continue to deliver the best possible policing services to the communities and residents of the North Okanagan,” Baher added.
