New HVAC system for Vernon non-profit

Jul 30, 2021 | 8:30 AM

A non-profit group in Vernon will be able to go ahead with a equipment upgrade thanks to community support.

The Okanagan Landing and District Community Association has received a $15,000 grant from the Community Foundation of North Okanagan which will be used to replace the HVAC (heating, ventilation & air conditioning) system at Paddlewheel Hall.

Cyril Karvonen, association president, says they will match the grant award, with funds from previous years of hall rentals, for the total HVAC replacement.

“The current HVAC is at the end of life as it was installed when Paddlewheel Hall was rebuilt in 1999 after a fire destroyed the original structure. Making these improvements will ensure we can continue to support the community and preserve Paddlewheel Hall and the Station House Museum for all to enjoy,” Karvonen stated.
