B.C. COVID update Thursday: 59 new cases, milestone for vaccines
B.C. is reporting 59 new cases of COVID-19, same total as Wednesday, with 19 cases in Interior Health.
One more person has died of COVID-related issues, a resident of the Interior, raising the death toll to 1,760.
There are 649 active cases in the province, with 74 people in hospital and 19 in intensive care. Interior Health has 175 active cases.
The vaccine program reached another milestone today with 40 per cent of residents 12 and older (1.8 million) now fully vaccinated (two doses), while 78.4 per cent (3,635,811) have received their first dose.
