Alexander’s Pub renovation should be done by fall

The first major renovation to Alexanders Beach Pub in Coldstream is still forging ahead despite numerous delays.

Owner and manager Gary Batula had hoped to have the renovation completed last year after starting the work in April 2020, during the COVID-19 lock-down.

“We are waiting on schedule ‘C’ occupancy for the new washrooms, which will give us step two, which is to open those ones, tear the old ones out and then, you know, get it going,” Batula said.

The renovations will also add additional cooler storage space and expand the kitchen.

Batula had hoped the project would have been completed months ago, but there were delays for an archeological survey and contractors.

“It better be done by September,” Batula laughed “Everyone is in the same boat we are. I was talking to our siding guy and he has trouble getting guys to show up.”
