Shuswap Shark Shack sets ‘sale’

One of the more unique businesses in the Shuswap — a floating restaurant, bar and store — is up for sale with a list price of $749,900.

The Shuswap Shark Shack is a three-barge arrangement, joined end to end, to make a floating platform of 197 feet long.

The real estate listing with Vancouvers RE/MAX Crest Realty states the vessel has sleeping quarters for about 15 people to serve the operations of the bar, restaurant, store and boat rental business.

The front and middle barges are two stories.

The front barge has the main area and kitchen including the general store and galley. The upper floor has a full-service bar and two bedrooms.

The middle barge houses the sleeping quarters.

The rear barge is horseshoe-shaped to accommodate the tenders and allow for outside tie-ups for houseboats.

The business has been in operation since 2008, and despite the pandemic, it still did well last summer.

The barge is usually anchored in the middle of the Cinnemousun Narrows.

The vessel is assessed at over $1 million and the sale includes two-speed boats: a late 90’s 22 foot Regal & 20 foot Campion.

The listing claims the buyer can make six figures in three months every summer.
