It is a win-win situation for those that love to read, as the Vernon Friends of the Library hold weekly outdoor book sales on Saturdays, weather dependent.

Readers get bargain books, talking books, DVD’s and CD’s, while the Okanagan Regional Library gets funding support from the group.

The sale goes from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., May 15 at 9908 Kalamalka Road, next to the Centex Gas Station, in the Coldstream town centre.

There are twenty tables of used books for sale with prices for adult books $2, children, junior and young adult only $1.

The group has a variety of genres including fiction, mystery, biography, history, gardening, cooking, travel and children’s books of all types.

New books are added each week.

A special feature will be DVD’s from 60 different countries, a donation from the Vernon Film Society.

There is also a selection of movies along with talking books and CD’s.

The Saturday sales replaced the annual spring and fall indoor book sales, which were curtailed as a result of public health restrictions.

All COVID-19 pre-cautions are being followed and people are asked to follow all on site directions.

If you have books, CD’s or DVD’s in reasonable condition you would like to donate you can make contact through the groups Facebook page.
