Four vehicle pile-up on Highway 97

A four vehicle accident northbound on busy 32nd Street (Highway 97) in front of Denny’s Restaurant and the Sandman Hotel and Suites tied up Wednesday afternoon traffic.

The chain reaction collision about 5:15 saw a work truck rear-ended by a Jeep Cherokee. A Dodge Calibre and KIA SUV also braked but were unable to avoid a collision.

The three passenger vehicles all had significant damage. The work truck had a large hitch and steel end gate and appeared unscathed.

Traffic was down to a single lane as fire, police and ambulance personnel attended to the scene.
