Okanagan team and two others from B.C. prepare for curling bubble
Jim Cotter and his curling squad from Vernon and Kelowna are among three B.C.teams that will be off to Calgary next month to compete in a curling bubble for national championships.
Cotter is the fourth for skip Steve Laycock’s rink, with second Andrew Nerpin of Kelowna and lead Rick Sawatsky of Vernon.
Laycock, who throws third rocks and skips the team, is based in Saskatchewan and is unable to travel to B.C. to train.
Cotter said they were hoping to be able to get together after travel restrictions are lifted and before they travel to the bubble.
