Leadership group chosen for Greater Vernon BC Winter Games
While it may seem hard to believe at this point in the midst of a pandemic, Greater Vernon is still on track to host over 2,000 athletes, coaches and officials for the BC Winter Games in 2022.
Val Trevis has been appointed as president of the volunteer board of directors while Teresa Durning will be vice president.
Trevis is the office manager for the Nixon Wenger law firm and is also a longstanding community leader with a passion for volunteerism and promoting sustainable development. She is currently a founding director of the Sport and Culture Society of the North Okanagan and a member of the Age and Dementia Friendly City Action team.
“Using her experience as a member of the protocol directorate for the 2012 BC Winter Games, Trevis will bring a depth of knowledge and experience that will ensure a successful Games,” a news release from the BC Games stated.
