Air quality in the Okanagan and other areas is expected to take a turn for the worse this weekend.
B.C.’s environment ministry said in an update Friday, forecast models show the potential for a significant push of wildfire smoke into B.C. through the weekend.
“The anticipated smoke trajectory indicates that the areas impacted will grow to the north and east as the weekend progresses with the most widespread impacts expected on Sunday,” stated the bulletin from Trina Orchard, air quality meteorologist.
In addition to southern B.C., the central part of the province, as far north as Prince George, could see impacts.
