UPDATE Wildfire south of Vernon ‘being held’
UPDATE Sept. 8
There is good news about the grass fire that broke out south of Vernon on Labour Day Monday (Sept. 7).
The B.C. Wildfire Service said the Westridge Road fire is classified as “being held.”
“That indicates that we don’t anticipate any further spread beyond the existing or pre-determined boundaries due to weather or suppression tactics,” Gagan Lidhran, information officer with the B.C. Wildfire Service told Vernon Matters.
