Update: Man wounded as shots fired at Kelowna hotel

A man is being treated for a gunshot wound after a shooting Wednesday morning in Kelowna.

RCMP officers responded in force just before 11 a.m. after a report of shots fired at the hotel on the 2100 block of Harvey Avenue.

Police say the wounded man is believed to have minor injuries from the shooting and that he was treated by paramedics called to the scene.

“Officers remain on scene conducting neighbourhood canvassing, speaking with witnesses, and gathering physical evidence,” said Cpl. Jocelyn Noseworthy, the Kelowna RCMP media relations officer. “The investigation is still in its early stages and officers will be in the area for an undetermined period of time.”

No further information is being released at this time, but Kelowna RCMP are urging anyone who witnessed or has knowledge of the gun attack to come forward to speak with police immediately.
