Aug 23, 2020 | 7:37 PM

UPDATE 8:28 p.m.

Tronson Road and Lakeshore Road have reopened to traffic and water service has been restored to customers on Tronson Road between Scott Road and Kin Beach.

The City of Vernon is thanking residents for their patience while the repairs were made to the sewer main.

11:02 a.m.

Motorists using Tronson Road will need to take a detour due to a sewer force main break earlier today (August 23).

Residents and motorists may experience the following interruptions:

  • Tronson Road is closed to traffic between the west access point of Scott Road and Lakeshore Road
  • Single lane alternating traffic on Lakeshore Road at Marshall Road
  • Water service interruption for residences between the west access point of Scott Road and Kin Beach
  • Residents along the rest of Tronson Road and the Tavistock area are asked to restrict their water use for today

A city crew is on site to assess the break and repair the main, which is expected to be completed by this evening.

If you are in the area, please slow down while driving and be aware of heavy trucks and equipment traveling on Lakeshore Road between the Tronson lift station and Cummins Road.

The city will provide more information as it becomes available and apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause. We appreciate the public’s patience as repairs are made to the site.

A map of the road closure area is available below.
