One dead in Canada Day crash near Ashcroft

The B.C. Coroners Service has confirmed one person died in a crash near Ashcroft Wednesday (July 1).

According to B.C. Emergency Health Services (EHS), first responders were called to a crash on Highway 97C near Barnes Lake Road at 3:47 p.m. Wednesday.

EHS says four paramedic crews were called to the scene. One patient was transported to hospital for treatment.

The Coroners Service says one person died in the crash.

No other details have been made available.
