ICBC ready to resume some road tests
The Insurance Corporation of B.C. says road tests resume next week for drivers seeking commercial Class 1 to Class 4 licenses.
That covers everything from would-be transport truck drivers to school bus, ambulance and taxi drivers — but there’s no date for the resumption of tests for Class 5 — or passenger vehicle — licenses.
An ICBC statement says, starting Thursday (June 11), those seeking a commercial licence test can call for an appointment — with preference given to drivers whose tests were cancelled in mid-March due to pandemic.
ICBC says resumption of Class 5 passenger vehicle tests will depend on the success of testing for commercial licenses, as well as the availability of enough protective gear to keep examiners safe.
