Rail Trail washroom expected to cost $220,000
The Greater Vernon Advisory Committee will get an update today on plans for a washroom building on the north end of the Okanagan Rail Trail.
Regional District of North Okanagan staff say a local construction company, Forma Construction, has teamed-up with Carscadden Architects as the succesful proponent to design and build a facility costing $220,000.
In a report to the committee, the 2020 budget includes $260,000 for the construction of the washroom and another $30,000 for design.
“The succesful proposal has a project cost of $220,000, providing a generous contingency and adequate funding for some connection work that is outside the scope of the contract,” Tannis Nelson, assistant manager of parks, recreation and culture, said.
