UPDATE: Power outage affects 3,000 customers

UPDATE:

BC Hydro says power was restored at 10 p.m.

About 3,000 homes in Vernon are without power.

BC Hydro says an outage occurred just before 9 p.m. Wednesday which was caused by a bird contacting a power wire.

The affected area is described as East of 38TH ST, South of 39TH AVE, North of 15TH AVE, West of BODWELL RD.

BC Hydro says a crew has been assigned to the incident and should arrived at 10:30 p.m.

Hydro says 2,963 customers are impacted.
