One of the big fundraisers for the Vernon Public Art Gallery will still go ahead this summer, but in a different form due to Covid-19 regulations.

The Midsummer’s Eve of the Arts (MEA), which was held at Mackie Lake House in Coldstream last year, will be held online on July 15 in what organizers say will be a virtual celebration of the arts

The event will feature a live auction with artwork from numerous B.C. artists, as well as entertainment.

“MEA is not only a significant fundraiser for the gallery, but it is also an event that the community deeply values and looks forward to each year. Although this year has brought some challenges that we will have to maneuver, the VPAG is working hard to make this a memorable evening, that connects our community as it does every year,” said Dauna Kennedy, executive director.

The 2019 event raised over $60,000 for art gallery programs.
