Women Who Care help Upper Room Mission

The 100+ Women Who Care of Vernon really do care.

On Monday, the group handed over a $7,695 cheque to the cash-strapped Upper Room Mission.

The URM temporarily closed its doors and laid off staff in March, citing financial pressures amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

In early May, the 100+ Women Who Care of Vernon put out a call to their members and the community to support the Mission which feeds street people and those struggling to make ends meet.

“The remarkable Women Who Care of Vernon who rose to the challenge and surpassed our expectations,” said a statement from the group which also thanked members of the community who donated to the campaign.
