Smoke alarm helped
Resident and pet flee motorhome fire

One occupant and a pet were able to escape a motorhome fire in the 1900 block of Union Road in Kelowna overnight.
The call came in around 2 a.m.
The first arriving officer reported flames coming through the roof of a 25β long class A motorhome,β said platoon captain John Kelly. βThe fire was quickly knock down with no extension to the surround exposures.β
Kelly said a working smoke alarm helped save the resident who is now being cared for by Emergency Support Services.
