There are 137 people in hospital with 58 in intensive care.

A total of 905 patients have fully recovered and are no longer in isolation, which means there are 585 active cases in the province.

Dr. Henry spoke about the new self-isolation plan that returning travelers have to submit, with 1,700 returning by air and land since Friday. Thirteen  required accommodation as they were not able to provide for themselves.

She thanked Alberta for sending some personal protective equipment and B.C. continues to source other suppliers.  Anyone who might be able to contribute is asked to do it through gov.bc.ca/supplyhub  where orders can be accepted and turned around.

As for weekend travel, Dr. Henry said most people did stay home and that included an 80 percent drop in travel on BC Ferries and she thanked everyone for limiting their travel.

She added it’s very important for everyone to keep going with the current measures.

“It is holding us. It is holding our line, and it is allowing us to deal with these issues in a way that is the best we can do for our province.
This is not forever, but it is for now, and what you’re doing is making a difference,” said Henry.

B.C. update on Covid-19 as of Monday April 13:

New cases: 45: (25 from Saturday to Sunday, and 20 from Sunday to Monday)

Total cases: 1,490

Cases by health region:

Vancouver Coastal: 650

Fraser Health: 591

Vancouver Island: 87

Interior Health: 136 (one new case since Saturday)

Northern Health: 26

There have been 11 new deaths, for a total of 69, the majority have been in long-term care.

905 people have fully recovered.

There are no new long term care home outbreaks. It remains at 20 facilities.

The temporary foreign workers outbreak at Bylands Nursery in West Kelowna now 20 positive tests, one more than before.

There is still one case to an inmate at the Okanagan Correctional Centre, with ongoing testing.

At the Mission federal prison, that outbreak now has 35 people testing positive, with 8 in hospital.
