Curlers come to town for provincials
Vernon’s economy will get a bit of a boost with the city hosting a provincial championship.
The B.C. Senior Curling Championship hits the ice at the Vernon Curling Club today until Sunday.
The event features competitors 50 and older, with eight men’s teams, and seven women’s teams.
The local favourite will be Mark Longworth’s rink from Vernon and Winfield with Dean Mackney at third, Greg Hamilton at second and Ron McDougall at lead.
