Vernon Vipers defenceman Trey Taylor has committed to Clarkson University.

The 17-year-old from Richmond B.C. is in his second season with the Vipers.

“I really like the small school feeling and that hockey is the number one sport on campus,” said Taylor. “I was looking for a hockey school and I got one which I’m really excited about.

Clarkson University is located in Potsdam, New York and the Golden Knights play out of the Cheel Arena. They have been members of ECAC Hockey since 1962.

Taylor, a 6’2 defender, is looking forward to his future as a Golden Knight, but first, he’s excited about the stretch run for the Vipers.

Taylor has 6 goals and 21 assists in 96 regular season games along with 6 points in 21 playoff games.

The Vipers start a home and home series with the West Kelowna Warriors Friday at Royal LePage Place.
