City still waiting for first pot shop

Armstrong council has given its support for a second cannabis store application in the city.

The Seed to Soul Boutique is planned for the former JJ’s Pizza building at 3495 Pleasant Valley Road, and now waits for provincial approval.

“The applicant had a public hearing in Armstrong where I believe four people showed up and they were all in support of it. So council supported the application going forward to the provincial government,” Mayor Chris Pieper told Vernon Matters.

Last year, council supported another cannabis store, which is just a few doors down from this latest one, but Pieper says they have yet to see one open in the city.

“There is a lot of bureaucracy involved provincially on these applications, so we’ll just sit and wait, and see what happens,” the mayor added.
