City orders removal of parked vehicles

With all the new snow, the City of Armstrong is reminding residents that all parked vehicles must be removed from city streets to assist in snow removal activities for safety and efficiency reasons.

“Crews are working under challenging conditions and vehicles parked on any street within the city create unsafe conditions and will cause interference with plowing, hauling, sanding and the maintenance required for our snow removal program,” said a city news release.

“Uncleaned sections of the roadway create hazards for pedestrians, other vehicles and first responders.”

A bylaw gives the city the authority to tow vehicles that are not removed, at the owners’ expense.
