Vernon gets visit from RCMP’s Emergency Response Team

Members of the RCMP’s Emergency Response Team were in the Vernon area Wednesday, for what local Mounties say was to assist in an investigation.

Members of the media were asked by police on Wednesday not to publish photos or information regarding the team’s location or activities, to “not compromise the investigation.”

Today Vernon RCMP are thanking the media for abiding by that request.

“Thank you for all your cooperation in not publishing information regarding the location and movement of our emergency response team members yesterday,” said Const. Jocelyn Noseworny. “The project that they were assisting with did not evolve into a substantial investigation and their assistance did not end up being required.”
