Reilly Herbst faced 34 shots — and stopped them all.

The native of Niwot Colorado was the first star in backstopping the Vernon Vipers to a 2-0 win over the Salmon Arm Silverbacks before a crowd of 1,143 at the Shaw Centre Saturday.

Vernon got goals from Elan Bar Lev Wise, his first, in the opening period and from Dawson Holt, his 8th, in the second.

Vernon improved to 15-12-1-1 on the season and next host Merritt Dec. 6
