Snakes end mega road trip with Express test

Nov 16, 2019 | 10:39 PM

It was the end of eleven straight road games for the Vernon Vipers.

We’re not sure why it was scheduled like that, but the Vipers finished off their three-week stretch of away games with a 2-1 loss to the league leading Coquitlam Express on Saturday night.

A crowd of 531 fans was on hand at the Poirier Sports and Leisure Centre.

Power plays were a key with the Express scoring both their goals with the man advantage in the opening period, and Vernon going 0 for 6.

The Vipers only goal came from Dawson Holt with his sixth of the season at 19:56 of the third period.

Vernon posted a record of 5-4-1-1 in the 11 road games, and next play Nov. 22 at home to the Salmon Arm Silverbacks.
