Shootout win for Vipers in PG

The Vernon Vipers snapped a two game winless skid with a 2-1 win over the Prince George Spruce Kings in a shootout Wednesday night.

Cam MacDonald got the only goal of the shootout to win it for Vernon who improve to 13-9-1-0, fourth in the Interior Division, 8 points back of the third place Trail Smoke Eaters.

Matt Kowalski scored for the Vipers in the first period, with his ninth goal of the season.

Reilly Herbst made 39 saves for the win in net.

It was Vernon’s ninth straight road game, and 832 fans took it in at the Rolling Mix Concrete Arena..

The Snakes play in Langley and Coquitlam this weekend before hosting Salmon Arm Nov. 22.

In other action Wednesday, the Salmon Arm Silverbacks defeated the Penticton Vees 4-3 in a battle of the first and second place teams in the Interior Division
