Smokies sweep series with Snakes

Trail Smoke Eaters moved 10 points up on the Vernon Vipers by sweeping their two game series at the Cominco Arena.

The Smokies, third in the Interior Division, came back from a 2-1 deficit with two goals from Tyler Ghirardosi in the third period for a 3-2 win Saturday night before 2,308 fans in the West Kootenay city.

Trail took the opening game 5-2 Friday.

Cameron MacDonald with his 7th of the season and Matt Kowalksi, with his 8th, scored for Vernon who fell to 12-9-1-0 and in fourth place in the Interior Division.
