Successful road trip for Vipers

Nov 3, 2019 | 6:49 PM

A win, an overtime loss and a shootout win.

Bottom line: five out of a possible six points.

That sums up the productive and busy weekend for the Vernon Vipers as they continued their stetch of 11 straight BCHL road games, now six down and five more to go away from the friendly confines of Kal Tire Place.

Ex WHL-er Dawson Holt scored the shootout winner in a 3-2 win Sunday afternoon against the Surrey Eagles before a gathering of 878 hockey fans at the South Surrey Arena.

Landon Fuller and captain Connor Marritt also scored for Vernon who improved to 12-7-1-0, moving into fourth place in the very competitive Interior Division.

Vipers next head to Trail for two games versus the Smoke Eaters Nov. 8 and 9.

Their next home game will be Nov. 22 against the Salmon Arm Silverbacks.
