Road thrill: Vipers take down Grizzlies

Nov 1, 2019 | 10:13 PM

The Vernon Vipers continue to play like road warriors.

The BCHL squad made it three wins in their last four road games, with a 5-2 win over the Victoria Grizzlies before 1,221 fans at the Q Centre in B.C.’s capital city Friday.

Former WHL’er Dawson Holt led the Vipers with a goal and two assists, while Vernon product Matt Kowalksi scored the game winner (in the first period) and added one helper.

Reilly Herbst made 25 saves for the win in net.

The contest featured a scrap between Viper Landon Fuller and the Grizzlies Chace Oliver in the final two minutes.

The Vipers (11-7), who don’t play at home again until Nov. 22, visit the Cowichan Valley Capitals Saturday.

You can hear the game on 107.5 Beach Radio, wit the pre-ame show at 5:45 p.m.
