Vipers deal rights to goalie to Vees

Oct 23, 2019 | 11:36 AM

A U.S. born goaltender with experience in the Western Hockey League will not be joining the Vernon Vipers.

The Vipers have traded the BCHL playing rights of 19-year-old puckstopper Carl Stankowski to the Penticton Vees in exchange for future considerations.

Stankowski, a native of Laguna Hills California, never played for the Vipers, but he did get into 24 games with the WHL’s Calgary Hitmen last season, and three games with the Hitmen this season.

The Vipers — who have won their last five games — start a string of 11 straight road games in Powell River Friday, a game you can hear on 107.5 Beach Radio with Graham Turnbull starting withthe pre-game show at 6:45 p.m.
