Report unwanted behaviour: Vernon Recreation

Oct 8, 2019 | 4:22 PM

It’s another pressing reminder to report suspicious activity if you see it and this time the reminder comes from Vernon Recreation.

Last week an incident occurred at the Priest Valley Arena that reportedly involved the street entrenched and drug activity, according to a Facebook post written by Vernon Volleyball that has since been taken down.

“On a particular evening someone witnessed some individuals carrying out unwanted behavior at the Priest Valley parking lot there, and so they brought it up to the attention of our staff,” Doug Ross, Director of Recreation Services said.

“The staff do what they are directed to do, they call bylaw or the RCMP depending on what the unwanted behaviour is, you know if it is a criminal act then we call the RCMP,” Ross explained.

He encourages everyone to notify authorities and recreation staff if they see any suspicious activity or unwanted behaviour on Vernon Recreation property.

He also reminds parents to make sure their children are properly supervised when attending recreation events and programs.
