Oct 7, 2019 | 12:37 PM

Teams from B.C. and Alberta took home the top prizes from the annual Prestige Hotels and Resorts Curling Classic.

The event hit the ice from Thursday to Sunday at the Vernon Curling Club.

Tyler Tardi’s team from Cloverdale B.C, the 2018 and 2019 World Junior men’s champions, won the men’s event.

Sterling Middleton, Jordan Tardi and Alex Horvath round out the team that defeated the rink skipped by Vernon’s Jim Cotter in the final.

Kelsey Rocque and her Edmonton team topped the women’s event, with Danielle Schmiemann, Becca Hebert and Jessica Marlow on board.

Club manager Dave Merklinger says the event was once again a huge success.

“Thanks to all our sponsors and volunteers who make all of this possible year after year.”

Kelsey Rocque’s team won $7,000 of the ladies total purse of $22,000, while Tyler Tardi’s team won $4,000 of the men’s total purse of $12,000.
