Suspicious vehicle flees break-in scene

RCMP are looking for suspects after a suspicious vehicle fled during a suspected break and enter at a business compound on 25th Avenue in Vernon.

Police say an officer had to jump out of the way of the suspect’s vehicle to avoid injury after a man and woman were seen at the site Wednesday night.

“For concerns of public and police safety, officers did not initiate a pursuit of the suspect vehicle, which was being driven in a dangerous manner. A short time later, police located their suspect vehicle abandoned in the area of 35th Ave. and 29th Str., which was confirmed stolen out of the Kelowna area,” said Const. Kelly Brett.

The suspects associated to the vehicle were not located, but the vehicle was impounded and the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
