Restaurant group expands

A Vernon company is expanding its holdings in food services.

The Pretium Restaurant Group has appointed Rob Dew as managing partner of the Italian Kitchen Group — which includes the Italian Kitchen restaurants in Vernon and Lake Country — along with a catering company affiliated with Wings Vernon, which will be based out of the Alpine Centre.

President Sherman Dahl said it’s an exciting time with the new leadership.

“Rob Dew along with Zach Ledrew (from Wings Vernon and Pretium Catering) are going to grow the catering company so that Pretium Catering, which is a joint venture between Italian Kitchen and Wings Vernon, is going to be one of the dominant players in the Okanagan,” Dahl told Vernon Matters.

Dahl said Dew is a well known chef in the industry.

“He is one of the top chefs in the Okanagan for sure. It’s a very exciting time for Vernon and the Italian Kitchen because we’ve been looking for that leader. Just that Italian Kitchen group alone will do probably over two million dollars in annual revenue.”

Dew was formerly with Ricardo’s Mediterranean Grill in Lake Country which was bought by Pretium.

Dahl said the group held a packed event this week to announce the change and welcome Dew on board.

“On Monday, Rob Dew took over the Italian Kitchen Vernon. That’s why we named it the “Dew Over.” He launched his new menu and now he’s running both restaurants in the Okanagan.”

The Pretium Group is a diversified holding company in Vernon which includes operations from plumbing and heating to corporate sportswear.
