City Questions Residents About Pot Shops
Do residents in Armstrong want pot shops in their community?
That’s what city staff will try to find out over the next few weeks with an open house in early June, an online survey, and a session at the farmer’s market on retail cannabis stores.
Mayor Chris Pieper says they haven’t had any applications for stores as yet, but they want to be prepared if they do get one.
“There has been a lot of people looking at establishing a (cannabis) business in Armstrong, but there’s been no formal applications. A formal application with the provincial government is very onerous, both on where they can locate, and what they have to do, along with a $7,500 application fee which I think scares people off,” Pieper tells Beach Radio News.
