EBus Gets Support To Add New Stop

EBus Gets Support For New Stop

May 9, 2019 | 6:00 AM

Ebus is looking to add another stop in the North Okanagan.

The bus company that’s been picking up some of Greyhound’s former routes, is getting support from Enderby council and the city’s Chamber of Commerce to add a curbside stop at the Enderby Visitor Centre.

EBus plans to make two stops daily to allow residents to catch a bus to places like Salmon Arm, Kamloops, Vernon, Kelowna and Vancouver.

“It will provide some good options for the community, and I’m quite excited they are working on this proposal, so I think it will be good for residents that need to travel to those outlying areas,” says Mayor Greg McCune.

McCune isn’t sure when the service could start, but says it’s “really close.”

Information from the Chamber of Commerce says Ebus Transportation Services would provide two stops daily, one for the route from Vancouver, through to Kamloops, Chase, Salmon Arm to Enderby at 3:30 p.m. daily continuing to Armstrong, Vernon, Kelowna and back to Vancouver.

There will also be a trip from Vancouver, through to Kelowna, Vernon, Armstrong, Enderby at 2:45 p.m. daily continuing to Salmon Arm, Chase and Kamloops and back to
Vancouver.

The Chamber says the fares are comparable to the previous service provided by Greyhound.

“The Enderby & District Chamber of Commerce fully endorse this service in Enderby and would like council’s support going forth with this opportunity for our community,” says Ali Maki, Executive Director, Enderby & District Chamber of Commerce in a letter to council.
