Two Seeking People's Party Nomination

Two Running For People’s Party

May 8, 2019 | 12:50 PM

Two people are seeking the People’s Party of Canada nomination for the North Okanagan Shuswap federal riding.

The right-wing party was formed last year with former Conservative cabinet minster Maxime Bernier as leader.

The local candidates are Ian Tribes, a long time resident of Vernon, and Kyle Delfing, a local small business owner.

“Both candidate nominees are currently being interviewed and vetted by the local riding Candidate Nomination Selection Committee,” says Glen Walushka, BC Regional Co-ordinator, People’s Party of Canada. “It is scheduled that the entire North Okanagan-Shuswap PPC membership will be voting one of these two very qualified and capable candidates through to a successful challenge for the position of our Member of Parliament no later than the last week of May.”

The party has also announced a PPC fundraiser and public event in Kelowna May 24 and 25 called ‘Kelowna Showdown.’

“Both Maxime Bernier and Dr. Patrick Moore, Co-Founder of Greenpeace and author of books including ‘Confessions of a Greenpeace Dropout’ will be in attendance and obliterating fallacies concerning the Canadian political landscape as well as myths and misconceptions concerning climate change, its causes and its likely outcomes,” says Walushka.
