Road Upgrade Will Impact Traffic

An upgrade to part of Vernon’s 48th Avenue is expected to get underway today, which will cause some disruption to traffic.

The City says the project will take place from 29th Street to Highway 97, and will include a new drainage culvert to prevent annual flooding issues, road improvements, and a multi-use pathway on the north side of 48th Avenue.

The work will take until the end of June.

“Lane closures on 48th Avenue between 29th Street and Anderson Way are required to complete this work,” says a City news release.
