BC-Alberta Oil Feud Off To Court
Alberta’s new premier has said he won’t be turning off the oil taps to BC off anytime soon — but the B.C. government is taking no chances.
Premier John Horgan has announced B.C. has filed two court actions aimed at striking down Alberta’s Bill 12 which would allow for the curtailment of oil flow to B.C.
Horgan says B.C. believes the bill is unconstitutional.
“He (Jason Kenny) says he has no plans to use the bill, but said it was a key election commitment, and he would proceed with it,” Horgan told a news conference after having what he called a “respectful and diplomatic conversation” with Kenny.
