Coldstream Finalizes Land Deal

The District of Coldstream has finalized a deal to buy property at 9913 Kalamalka Road.

The land is adjacent to the Women’s Institute Hall (next to the District office), and the municipality says it will be an important part of the WI Hall replacement project, and redevelopment as part of the Central Coldstream Neighborhood Plan.

The District paid $385,000 for the land.

New Zoning Bylaw

The District of Coldstream has enacted a new Zoning Bylaw effective April 8, 2019.The new zoning bylaw incorporates several key changes including the modernization of the rural zones, limits on farm work housing and the addition of urban hens (with restrictions).  These changes were part of an overall updating and modernization of the zoning provisions for our community.The new bylaw can be found online at www.coldstream.ca or in person at the District office.

2018 Audited Financial Statements

Council approved the 2018 Audited Financial Statements. The financial statements, which were presented by BDO Canada LLP, provide a detailed summary of the financial picture of the District.

Certificate for Local Government Executive Management

District of Coldstream Chief Administrative Officer Trevor Seibel has been granted a Certificate in Local Government Executive Management from the BC Board of Examiners. This accreditation is a result of his extensive academic qualifications and work experience in the local government field and included an oral and written presentation to the Board of Examiners on a topic related to local government administration.
