‘Wild Ride at the Pumps’
Gasoline prices are expected to rise in BC and four other provinces next Monday April 1st, which one retail analyst feels will be a sign of things to come this summer.
Dan McTeague from GasBuddy.com says with the HST/GST being levied on the carbon tax, gas prices will likely go up one cent a litre in BC, and about 5 cents a litre in Saskatcehwan, Manitoba, Ontario and New Brunswick.
He is predicting 2019 will be “a wild ride at the pumps for Canadians,” and will turn out to be more expensive than any year since 2014 for gas prices, helped in no small part by an increase in taxes and currency challenges.
“It won’t be a summer to remember at the pump thanks to myriad tax increases that will cost Canadians more every fill-up.”
