‘We can’t do anything:’ Overdose prevention site concerns council
Members of City Council had some words of concern for Interior Health and the province after hearing that an overdose prevention site is officially on the way for the city.
Interior Health said they received an order from the Ministry of Health to put an overdose prevention site in the area, citing that Vernon has the third highest amount of overdoses in the health authority.
“This service will be happening but you will have a voice,” said Interior Health Medical Health Officer, Dr. Karin Goodison.
