Missing Teen May Be in Kelowna Area

Missing Teen May Be in West Kelowna Area

Mar 24, 2019 | 8:51 AM

Since Thursday, a B.C. mom continues to search for her missing 14-year-old son hoping he is safe and has reached out to local media for help locating him.

The report on Global News says Ethan Burnett was on a flight from Edmonton to Vancouver. Video surveillance confirmed that Burnett was seen walking away from Vancouver International Airport.  This was unusual as he was supposed to board a connecting flight to Fort St. John. He hasn’t been seen or heard from since.

Global News confirms Teena Burnett and her son Ethan moved from West Kelowna to Hudson’s Hope east of Fort St. John, a few months ago.

His mom was worried “He was getting in with the wrong crowd,”

Ethan has family in Hudson’s Hope, where his mom is convinced the small BC town is a much better place for him.

Ethan has connections in West Kelowna, and his mom is concerned that he has hitchhiked back to the Okanagan to hook up with them again.

Global News quotes his mom as saying “But no one is talking in West Kelowna. I can’t reach anyone,”

RCMP have been notified by the family but have yet to issue a missing person report.

Anyone who sees Burnett or knows of his whereabouts is asked to contact RCMP.
