KFD Rope Rescue Team to the Rescue

At approximately 6:45PM last night the Kelowna Fire Department Technical Rope Rescue Team responded to a
female hiker who was injured in Canyon Falls Park in the Crawford area of Kelowna.

She was at the bottom of the falls and unable to hike back out because of her injuries. The Technical Rescue Team used
rope systems to haul her out of the canyon in a basket stretcher. The patient was then transferred to
BCAS for further medical care.

Kelowna Fire Department responded with one Engine and the Technical Rope Rescue Team.  They were
assisted on scene by COSAR Team members and BCAS and thank them for their assistance.
