Update: Another Cougar Caught on Camera

UPDATE 8:30 am

This cougar was spotted at 6:30 this morning on Pheasant Road in the BX.

Photographer Mike Wylie says the big cat was seen going through the yard of a house and heading up Galiano Road.

“With one cat already missing in the neighborhood, it may be hunting East Vernon at night. Conservation has been notified,” says Wylie.

Owners of small pets are being urged to take precautions after some recent cougar sightings in Vernon’s Okanagan Landing.

Home surveillance video posted on social media caught one of the animals strolling through the carport of a home near the Strand Resort Tuesday night around 7 pm.

Another photo posted on social media shows a cougar near homes on Longacre Drive overnight Monday.

Cougars generally try to avoid humans, but they can be looking for food sources such as cats or small dogs.
