3.85% Tax Hike Proposed for Coldstream

Staff at the District of Coldstream are recommending a 3.85% tax hike for property owners this year.

One percent of that is for operations ($61,595), while the rest is for capital items and reserves ($181,100).

That would include a $100,000 increase to the road reserve, a $31,100 increase for en equipment replacement reserve, and a $50,000 increase to the drainage reserve.

If approved by council, the average residential property (valued at $630,070) would pay an extra $60 in municipal taxes.
