RCMP are seeking witnesses to a suspicious incident that took place near Mission Hill School Tuesday evening around 6 pm.

Two 11 year old girls say while they walking on a path near the school a male approached them and allegedly grabbed one girl by the arm.

“One youth had the quick thinking to run into public view onto the street, yelling for help, which in turn caused the male to quickly let go of the other youth’s arm and flee on foot. The youths were able to grab the attention of a passing vehicle, at which time the vehicle occupants assisted the females in getting to safety by retreating into a nearby church,” says Constable Kelly Brett.

The girls were not physically injured as a result of the incident.

The suspect is described as having tan coloured skin, wearing dark or all black clothing, about 5’7 – 5’10, with a thin to average build.

Police are investigating and would like to talk to the Good Samaritans and anyone else who may have seen the incident in the 1500 block of 36th Street between 5:30 and 6:30 Tuesday night. (Reference file #2019-3092)
